While it is true that photos on canvas are cheaper than oil paintings or any other paintings in general, that does not mean to say that they are to be neglected and still expect that they remain beautiful throughout its existence.

Like any regular paintings or works of art, they have to be cared for and maintained. If you are wondering how you can do that, here are some tips that will help you keep your photos on canvas looking like new.

At first, you have to take note that your canvas prints are painted with a special lacquer coat that safe guards them from weather, dust and any other contaminants. This means that you would not have to do much to really protect your framed pictures. You just need to follow these simple tips to keep them looking great.

1. When choosing a specific place where to hang them, try to select a spot that is free from humidity and away from direct sunlight. This prevents the colour of your canvas prints from fading and the cloth from being discoloured and brittle. If you can, try to pick a cool and dry place where they are shielded from dust and any other substances.

If the place of your choice turned out to be too dark, then just install small pin lights that can provide the sufficient amount of illumination you need.

2. If your photos on canvas seem to be a bit gritty and dirty, never attempt to clean it by hosing it down. As a reminder, keep this general rule in mind – ink and water do not match. So if you feel the need to fresh and clean your canvas prints, merely wipe them with a dry cloth or a duster. The lacquer coating on it should be enough to let all the dust slide off quickly and easily.

And if for some reason anyone spilled or splashed water on your canvas, then taking action immediately! Get an absorbent lint free cloth and dab it on the print to keep the water from seeping through.

3. To make sure that your frames stay on your wall, check their metal fixtures for any rust. If you see that there is, then delicately dab the affected area with a rust solution. Just be careful because you would not want to have the solution spread to the canvas.

4. Should you decide on changing the frames of your photos on canvas, then make sure that you use acid – free frames. This is important because acid is known to quickly discolour your prints and in due course ruin it in time.

5. When moving your photos, try to be careful with it because stretched canvas on a frame can be very fragile. They can easily give in to any sharp and pointed objects or edges.

Those are 5 simple tips that can help you keep your photos on canvas looking like new. Again, you do not really need to do much as those little efforts can give your photos a longer life.

If you’re just starting out learning photography, then you’ve probably noticed that photographers have a language all their own. Camera aperture is just one of those common photography terms that gets used a lot without much explanation. No need to worry though, as this article will give you a great and clear guide to understanding aperture. Here is a breakdown on what aperture is, how it works, and why you want to use it:

Camera Aperture Explained

In simple terms, camera aperture is the opening in your lens that lets light come into contact with your film (or digital sensors). The opening can be changed using your camera’s F stop or if you have a digital camera you can change it using the manual settings. Some digital cameras even have a fixed aperture mode that lets you pick the aperture and the camera automatically figures out the other settings.

Aperture is measured in “F” numbers and is usually represented on your camera in abbreviations such as F8, F/8 or some variation in between. As the F value increases in number, the amount of light allowed into the camera decreases. For instance, an F value of 1/4 would be considered wide-open, while 1/22 would be pretty much as closed as possible.

What Does the Aperture Really Do

Camera aperture has a dramatic impact on the final prints of your photographs. A closed aperture will let in very little light into the camera, which will give you the chance to expose the film (or digital sensor) for a longer period of time. Adjusting the F value is a great way to use slow shutter speeds and long exposures without overexposing your film into oblivion.

Aperture also gives you the opportunity to react quickly to changes in lighting. If you’re photographing in a bright environment, a high F stop (very closed aperture) will give you the chance to use slower shutter speeds. In contrast, when shooting in a low-light environment, opening up the aperture to a very low F value will provide you with greater flexibility in capturing your image and may even save you from requiring a flash.

When is a Good Time to Change the Aperture?

You don’t have to manipulate your camera aperture. Many SLRs adjust the aperture automatically to great success making it easy not to worry about it. However, if you want more direct control over the depth of field in your image then you can manually adjust the camera’s aperture. An open aperture (low f stop) will give you very little depth of field (subjects close to the camera will be clear while the background is blurry) and a closed aperture will make everything in your photograph seem more detailed.

Knowing when and how to adjust your aperture is a powerful tool in any photographer’s bag of tricks. One great way to see how it affects your images is to shoot every photograph twice – once with a low F value and once with a high one. Aperture is a great way to expand your creativity with the simple change of a setting.

What excites the couples the most is saying for better or worse, I do and having some cake at the reception. To make sure everything will be in order on that special day, couples usually plan their wedding months or even years in advance. Preparing tremendously for the big day, everything must be well organized and arranged–the caterer and the church, the gown and the tux, and even the wedding entourage. The pre-wedding photography is usually done before the big day so the couple could have nice photographs they could use for the invitation and have them get to know the photographer more and vise versa.

Couples nowadays have different phyappointments with their photographer for the pre-wedding photogra. There are different types of pre-wedding photography that couples can avail. The save the date shoot, the engagement or pre-nuptial shoot and the test photo shoot at the location consist of these. These all happen before the wedding and provide the couple with photos they can use.

A save the day photo shoot is usually done in order for the couple to have pictures in their save the date video. Asking the guests of the wedding to save a specific date is basically its purpose. This further announces the couple’s plan on getting married, where and what time. It can show the different stages the couple went through before deciding to get married. These photo shoots usually show the fun and quirky side of the couple. It could be shot in the memorable locations for the couple like the place where they first met or where they shared their first kiss.

Once the save the date photo was done the engagement or pre-nuptial photo shoot immediately follows. While some couples opt to do their save the date shoot and engagement shoot separately, some like to do them at the same time. The bride’s engagement ring will be shown in the pre-wedding photography shoot and it’s usually held in a romantic location. It can also be done at a memorable place for the couple like the save the day shoot. The photos from this shoot are usually used in the invitation and the various backdrops at the reception. The couple’s romantic side will manifest in here.

The last pre-wedding shoot isn’t really considered a formal shoot. Photographers like to have a basic knowledge of the location of the wedding before the actual event date. The clients may be asked by the photographer to have a test shoot at the venue in order to know where the lights enter what lensesn to use and what other types of equipments to bring. Few days before the actual wedding, these shoots are being done.

All these pre-wedding photography shoots provides interaction between the photographer and the clients making them more at ease and comfortable with each other. The photographer will have easier time to shoot on the day of the wedding because of this. The information was given by a groom who’s a businessman of alarm systems installation and home theater projector selling.
